The Company
Vélsmiðjan Stálvík ehf was founded in 2019 by Sigurður Kristinn Lárussson, a master mechanic and Jón Trausti Sverrissson, a mechanical and energy technician, who have years of experience in steel forging, mechanics and diverse technical work from the construction industry, heavy industry, the fishing industry and the food industry.
Stálvík offers complete solutions in design, new construction and repairs. Everything from design and drawing to construction and installation.
Stálvík’s employees are specialized and have a lot of experience in technically complex, shorter projects that call for very good planning, the involvement of other contractors and safe risk management.
The name Stálvík has a long and well-known history in the metal industry, but in previous years a shipyard in Garðabær operated under that name. Vélsmiðjan Stálvík is not associated with that company.
The company is located at Hvaleyrbraut 24 in a 500 m2 building with complete equipment.

Stálvík prides itself on treating the environment with care and always looking for ways to minimize the environmental impact of the company’s operations. We focus on offering good service and constantly work on improvements in environmental matters by:
- Treat resources well, reduce waste and recycle waste as much as possible.

- Adopt the procedures of the environmental management system according to ISO 14001.
- Follow the relevant laws and regulations regarding environmental issues and set requirements that go further as appropriate.
